Continuum of Care and Support to HIV Affected & Infected

Target Population: People living with HIV/AIDS & their family members

Geographical location/area coverage: Dhaka

Goal: To improve the health status of the HIV infected & affected.

Objectives:
o To increase HIV/AIDS awareness of target people and their stakeholders
o To provide Care & Support Service for HIV infected & affected established
o To provide Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) facilities
o To Treatment for Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) & Opportunistic Infection (OI)
o To provide halfway home services for PLHA
o To contribute to rehabilitate HIV infected and affected

Major Strategy/Approach: Provision for comprehensive package of care and support approach including HIV/AIDS awareness; voluntary counseling & testing; nutritional support; treatment for Opportunistic infection & STI, halfway home & recreational education and rehabilitation support.

Activities:
o Seminar/sensitization/advocacy meeting\with the gate keepers/key stakeholders
o Courtyard sensitization meeting of the infected with relatives & neighbours
o Observance of International Candle light Day
o Observance of World AIDS Day
o Development of relevant IEC materials
o Baseline assessment of awareness of target population the project area
o National level dissemination seminar for advocacy
o Central & Peripheral VCT Centres setup
o General counseling
o Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) Management with follow up
o Opportunistic Infection (OI) management
o Halfway home package Service for HIV infected and/or affected
o Training /Capacity building
o Rehabilitation through vocational training & involvement in employment & income generating activities
