GFATM Project:
“HIV Prevention and Control among High-Risk Population and
Vulnerable Young People in Bangladesh” is a collaborative project
between National AIDS/ STD Program (NASP), Directorate General of
Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) and
Save the Children-USA funded by Global Fund. HASAB has been leading
in implementation of this package # 902 all over Bangladesh through
a consortium with three other NGOs - Ad-din Welfare Centre, Young
Power in Social Action (YPSA) and Association for Community

GFATM # 910 Project:
Bangladesh was successful in securing grant from the Global Fund to
fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM) in its sixth
round to implement Prevention of HIV/AIDS programme among Young
People in Bangladesh. The principle recipient of the grant, Ministry
of Health and Family Welfare of Government of Bangladesh
subsequently selected Save the Children – USA, Bangladesh as the
management agency for the grant through a competitive process. Save

Project:
Bangladesh initiated early response to address HIV problem, but
during the last decade most of the responses were confined in the
area of awareness raising for prevention. HASAB, working with
various partner NGOs since 1994, found that there is a burning need
to addresses care and support issues for those who are already HIV
infected including members of their families; as well there is a
need to enhance organizational development and capacity building of

PRESEP Project:
HASAB, Historically, some of the people are often stigmatized and
discriminated for their psychosexual behavior and activities which
has got social disapproval and are categorically titled as CSW
(Commercial Sex Worker), MSM (Male having Sex with Male)
Transgender/Hijra, Ex-IDUs (Injecting Drug Users), PLHA (People
Living with HIV AIDS). They are often socially excluded and deprived
from all basic human rights i.e. access to health services,
information, employment, housing, education and legal support. They

‘Widening
Responses to HIV/AIDS Mainstreaming’ is a consultancy based
partnership project, whose aims to demonstrate a clear way forward
towards mainstreaming approach in HIV/AIDS prevention and care among
the NGOs partners of Oxfam Novib in Bangladesh (BRAC, BELA, GUK
Gaibandha, ASHRAI, GKS Sirajgonj, SHAKTI Foundation, Proshika, CAMPE,
SUPRO, ASK, BLAST, BNWLA, INAFI, SDS, Steps Towards Development,
Pollysree, Karmojibi Nari and Bangladesh Nari Pragoti Sangha)

Nutrition Project:
HIV/AIDS has significant nutrition-related implications and
consequences for individuals, families, and communities. Infant
and young children of Commercial Sex Workers and People Living with
HIV/AIDS are immense victim of nutrition deficiencies due to the
direct link with some conditions or diseases status. To promote
nutritional status of those malnourished infant and young children
HASAB has recently started a project tilted ‘Comprehensive
